Simultaneous Ring
A setting that rings multiple phones or devices at the same time so the first one answered picks up the call.
Simultaneous ring (also called sim ring or parallel ring) causes an incoming call to ring on multiple devices or numbers at once — for example, a desk phone, a mobile phone, and a softphone app — all at the same time. Whoever picks up first answers the call; all other ringing stops immediately.
This feature is valuable for businesses where employees aren't always at their desks. A call to a specific extension rings the office phone, the agent's cell, and their laptop app simultaneously — ensuring the call is answered regardless of where the agent is physically located. Simultaneous ring reduces missed calls without requiring callers to know or dial multiple numbers.
Zonitel allows each extension to have its own simultaneous ring configuration. Admins can set ring duration (how long all devices ring before falling back to voicemail or another rule), define which devices participate in the ring group, and combine simultaneous ring with time-of-day rules — for example, ring only the desk phone during office hours and all devices after 6pm.
